The craft
Red oak, stripped to the essentials
With nothing applied to the fronts, this minimalist stand lives or dies on the wood. I pick red oak boards for consistent grain and color, then let a clear hand rubbed finish bring out the warm undertone rather than covering it with stain.
Open bays hold records upright and stay easy to flip through, the low bench height works under a window or against an entry wall, and the top is sized for a turntable with room for the album currently playing. The frame is joined to carry a full vinyl collection, which is heavier than most furniture is built for.
